An evening featuring Dawn Upshaw, celebrating the range and vitality of the American music she grew up with, ranging from opera to songs from the shows. With the London Sinfonietta she performs music by Bernstein, Copland, Weill and Gershwin, and, for the first time at the Proms, Rodgers and Hart and Stephen Sondheim. Songs include numbers such as I Feel Pretty, Manhattan and Someone to Watch Over Me.
